Yesterday, members of the Adult Foster Care of the North Shore (AFCNS) team came together to support a cause close to many of our hearts—the special bond between older adults and their pets. We were proud to attend AgeSpan’s Power of Pets Fundraiser, held at BareWolf Brewing in Amesbury, MA.

This community fundraiser event brought together community members, caregivers, pet lovers, and partners for an evening of connection, wagging tails, and meaningful purpose. With great energy, friendly faces, and even a few four-legged guests, the gathering highlighted just how much pets enrich the lives of the older adults we serve.
All proceeds from the fundraiser directly benefit AgeSpan’s Power of Pets Program, which provides financial support to help older adults keep and care for their beloved animals. This program offers assistance with veterinary bills, food, grooming, and other essential expenses, ensuring that no one has to choose between their well-being and their companion animal.
At AFCNS, we see firsthand the emotional support, comfort, and joy that pets bring to our members. Programs like Power of Pets play a vital role in keeping those relationships strong—and we’re grateful to AgeSpan for championing this mission.
A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who attended, donated, or helped spread the word. Your support directly impacts the lives of older adults and the pets they love. We look forward to coming together again next year for another wonderful evening in celebration of our community and the power of pets!
